Kristi McDuffie is a rhetoric and composition scholar who studies digital writing and race rhetorics. She is currently the Associate Director of Rhetoric at the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign.
She completed her Ph.D. at Illinois State University in May 2015 with a dissertation investigating the rhetorical construction of whiteness within online reader comments responding to newspaper articles on immigration reform. Her research and teaching interests center on composition pedagogy and theory, digital writing and rhetoric, race and whiteness theory and rhetorics, critical pedagogy, and social media.
